AlertNet Climate focuses on the human impacts of climate change, particularly in the developing world. In addition to stories from the Foundation’s 22 full-time journalists, it features from-the-ground stories from a network of more than 80 local journalists in countries diverse as Mali, Congo, Nepal, Colombia and Peru. It also provides intensive ongoing mentoring and support to build the skills of these journalists around the world.
AlertNet Climate publishes podcasts and text versions of climate stories translated into languages including Kiswahili, Urdu, Bengali, French, Bahasa Indonesia, Sinhala, SiNdebele and Odia to broaden the project’s reach in the developing world.
AlertNet Climate in 2012 won a Webby award as one of the world’s best green websites.
